David Fischer I knew from the first split second I had to get my hands on Nothing Will Belong To Us, and it was the only right thing to do. Listening to this feels like being trapped in a droning, unending nightmare - each attempt of waking up nullified by the droning noise that's pulling you back, weighting down your thoughts like thick tar, steadily increasing your heartrate as you approach the breaking point of dropping into utter panic. It surrounds you like a child, indeed... don't miss out. Favorite track: Is It All.

dillon. I discovered this album late, but I've rarely heard music darker than this. The atmosphere and tension on each track are palpable and thick with unease, torture and violence, yet it still sounds beautiful. Trine's vocals still manage to sound airy and classical in the thick of the mixes but also seething emotional rage. I don't know how I didn't find this earlier, but it's honestly one of the better albums I've heard lately Favorite track: She Wants You Motherless.

sonikdeath77 It has been a while since I've commented on here, as I bloviate over on iG instead. But this one has entranced and inspired me. Female fronted noise like this and others mentioned above has the ability to captivate and insidiously move into parts of your psyche that other music does not.

Sean This is beautiful and meditative, reminding me of some of my favorite pre-dance beat industrial material from SPK and Attrition. People who enjoy Pharmakon will likely enjoy this. It is unique, complex, and worth one’s time. Favorite track: Dummy Foal.

about

---------------------------------------------------

"Mouth Wound makes sounds that are the stuff of nightmares" (Cvlt Nation)

"an evocative, discomforting experience that resonates with the deep, silent corners of our brains" (Invisible Oranges)

"a harrowing, emotional rollercoaster made of shattered glass and hardly pent up emotion that makes for one of the most fascinating and poignant listens I can think of" (Machine Music)

---------------------------------------------------

“Nothing Will Belong To Us” is the first on-label album by Danish Experimental / Dark Ambient artist and multi-instrumentalist Trine Paaschburg a.k.a. MOUTH WOUND.

The album will be released on April 27, 2023 on digital and a limited tape edition.

“Nothing Will Belong To Us” sees Trine expanding upon those elements that have become a trademark of her unique approach to music and experimentation, here combining the use and manipulation of analogue noise oscillators, acoustic drone, mangled violin and her heartbreaking voice with recordings based on her improvised live material accumulated over the past 2 years.

An album that is made of the very same substance of dreams and nightmares combined: a visceral release, so bodily and ethereal at the same time, balancing moments of deep melancholy with abrupt and brutal climaxes in which the peace is mauled by a cacophony of noise and guttural screams.

Simultaneously, the lyrical context of physical/existential malaise and the search for tranquil that characterized her whole production has also gained more depth and sadness, and a profound sense of inevitability in expressing such an instinctual and emotional desire to find meaning through a persevering feeling of emptiness, knowing all too well that that goalpost is and will always be there, and yet it will also never stop moving.

Both meditative and masochistic, “Nothing Will Belong To Us” is a refreshingly honest and scarily brutal take on experimental music: multi-layered and minimalistic at the same time, it evokes a soul crushing poetry that is truly unique to the phenomenal art of Mouth Wound.

FFO: Lingua Ignota, Diamanda Galas, Pharmakon, Hillary Woods.
