"By the time this album’s finished, I feel like I’ve witnessed several apocalypses and survived them all" (Cvlt Nation)

"Heavily immersive and harrowing doom/noise that skews towards jarring extremes and pure creepiness" (Invisible Oranges)

"Challenging and uncomfortable, but intensely gripping and hard to get out of your head" (No Clean Singing)

"A vortex of negativity never so enthralling or profound" (Metalitalia)

"Listening isn’t really what one does with Post Tenebra Lux. Rather, one experiences it. One feels it. One is maybe even possessed by it" (Moshpit Nation)

"A landscape in which every gash - albeit minimal - of light is absent" (The New Noise)

"Oppressive, aggressive and permeated by a sense of instability" (Aristocrazia Webzine)

"The most raw, intense, and abrasive album I've ever heard" (Zax Records Reviews)

"An abysmal compendium of authentic suffering" (Grind on the road)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Post Tenebras Lux” is the second album by Blackened Doom / Noise project LACOLPA.

After the debut album “Mea Maxima Culpa”, which was released to critical acclaim in 2017 and ended up being featured in many album of the year charts by the likes of Cvlt Nation and The Wire Magazine amongst many others, LaColpa are back with their highly anticipated sophomore release.

“Post Tenebras Lux” is a monolithically dark and ominous album, showcasing how the band’s distinctive Doom / Noise sound has ultimately shape-shifted into something monstrously heavier and sludgier, all the while experimenting with some of the most painful soundscapes of improvisational noise and drone metal.
The end result is a 44 minutes long nightmare evoking menacing visions of pain, whilst the echo of our laments bounces around the infinite walls of Nothingness.

Thematically, this new album outlines LaColpa’s philosophy of pain, deeply rooted in the human condition of eternal suffering.
Agony is the only hope for transcendence, and yet here faith is worth nothing, because crosses are invisible and only pain is real.
Accepting defeat, embracing pain, becoming a martyr won’t lead to any illumination - but to the realisation that our existence is only an error, a mistake, a sin performed by God himself in the act of projecting an image of his real self upon us.
